Howdy Foam Riders,
We hope everyone enjoyed the summer holidays and got some well-deserved time off. Obviously everyone is aware that we were unable to run a final competition in 2017, but rest assured we tried every option possible to find a contestable wave to wrap up our 2017 season. I’m sure you were all just as frustrated as we are at the lack of decent waves there have been so far this summer.
Due to the fact that we missed a couple competitions in 2017, all members who signed up last year will have their membership rolled on through to the 2018 season.
This brings us to the state of the club in 2018, (with a few changes being made in our committee) We have a few exciting changes to our Committee, Jill Douglass will be handing over treasurer role to Jade Lyons (Paddy Franklyn’s Mum), and I will handing over the reins as President to Strunky (Adam Strunk) We are looking for some new people to come in and take on some responsibility in the back-end of our club.
Massive thanks to Jade & Paddy Franklyn who have already joined our committee for this year, but we need more people to ensure that no one in it is given too much work to handle. This is where we need your help, we need more people to bring a new energy to our beloved club to ensure its survival through the 2018 season. We will be looking for people to fill the role of Secretary and social media representative. Whether you have these skills or not doesn’t matter, there is always something you can do or learn to do. If we cannot find enough help, then the state of our club will be in some distress.
Our next meeting is planned for 6pm on Wednesday the 21st of February @ Pitz, this will be our AGM for 2017 and we are putting an open callout to our all members, family, friends or anyone who thinks they can bring something to the club. To our younger guys, please pass this message on to your family to help keep our club alive.
We have some really exciting things planned for this season, but without the proper logistical help in the back-end, none of this will be able to happen.
We are excited to see you at our next meeting and looking forward to 2018.
P.S – The SWA State Bodyboard Titles are now open for registrations, first competition to be held 23,24 & 25 March in Margaret River. Get on it!
